Mooring Buoy Project in Full Swing
One of Marine
Conservation Koh Tao’s project goals for 2009 is to expand
and develop greater numbers, and better designed mooring buoys throughout
Koh Tao. Specifically, the aim is to develop anchors that can be
used in sandy areas away from the dive sites we are trying to protect.

We at Eco Koh
Tao have been working to design a suitable sand anchor that is cost
effective, relatively simple to install and strong enough to hold
multiple large boats in rough weather. Last week we implemented
our first two test units off Mae Haad and so far things have been
going great.
