More Coralwatch studies @ Crystal Dive Resort
On October 14,
2007 Padi Master Instructor Justin Mayers, MSDT Nathan Cook &
Divemasters Toni Clark & Mark Wilkinson took to the waters of
Mango Bay on Koh Tao’s north for some ecodiving.

The enviro divers
undertook a Coralwatch Survey of the shallow reefs providing invaluable
data on the health of the reef. Coralwatch is a coral health survey
program conducted by the University of Queensland in conjunction
with PADI’s Project Aware.

In addition the
four undertook a more thorough and demanding Reef Check survey of
the reefs in Mango Bay. Reef Check is an independent organisation
based in California established to collect, collate & disseminate
information about the state of the reefs around the world.

Reefcheck employs
a standard methodology that is transferable throughout the world’s
reefs. The data is holistic in nature covering all aspects of the
ecosystem and provides important feedback for lobby groups and other
stakeholders.
