Reef Check Begins for 2011
Our
first two Eco divers for 2011, Anke Deppermann & Willem Gladisch
were certified this week kicking off what we hope to be a big Eco
year for Eco Koh Tao & Crystal Dive.

Anke
is an instructor and former Crystal employee working here from 2003-2005.
Both her and Will were tired of swimming around not knowing what
everything is and wanting a more detailed insight into the marine
ecosystem.
"It
is great to look at things in so much detail"
said Anke on day 2 of the three day course.
The two divers completed the course on the 12th of January by joining
experienced Eco divers Debbie Gottdenker, Sirasa ‘Pearl’
Kantaranakul and Instructor Nathan Cook for a Reef Check Survey
of Mango Bay, our first since the end of the monsoon.

Our
Reef Check surveys are conducted in conjunction with the Save Koh
Tao Groups Ecological Monitoring Program collecting data for our
local conservation efforts as well.
