Coralwatch Features Eco Koh Tao & Crystal Dive
Eco Koh Tao has been an avid supporter of Project AWARE’s
Coral Watch coral reef monitoring initiative for a number of years
now. This support has recently been recognised in Coralwatch’s
first newsletter.
An article featuring
information from our Coral Bleaching Film about Koh Tao was a big
part of it, as well as the recognition as the largest single contributor
of data.
Teaching Coralwatch has been an integral part of our Reef Check
Eco Diver Courses along with the excellent addition, this year of
the Marine Resource Management Program. Through these courses and
the dedication of our many volunteers, both students and staff members,
we have managed to provide an enormous amount of hugely valuable
information on the health of the reefs in Koh Tao.
This information
goes into a worldwide database providing the information we need
to successfully and correctly manage these important resources.
Thank you to everyone who has helped us over the years collecting
data. Especially to our volunteers who have completed the sometimes
harder task of doing the data entry, Simon and Jenny Dowling.
Thanks guys!
